Alicante, Spain-based guitarist Yerai Cortés is part of a fresh wave of artists pushing the boundaries of flamenco music. Since learning the guitar from his father, Miguel, at a young age, Cortés has shared the stage and collaborated with renowned musicians and flamenco pioneers including Rocío Molina, Rosario La Tremendita, Rycardo Moreno, and Manuel Liñán. Over the past decade, he’s blurred the lines between the genre’s traditional and contemporary iterations, creating exquisite compositions, performances, and albums together with Juan Debel.

Yerai Cortés – SONAR POR BULERÍAS | A COLORS SHOW

Last month (May 2024), Alicante, Spain-based Flamenco guitarist Yerai Cortés teased the release of his first solo album with a magical performance of the new composition ‘Romance’. Providing a taste of his signature ‘gitano’ playing style, the track beautifully showcased how the artist effortlessly marries traditional flamenco stylings with contemporary influences.

For his A COLORS ENCORE, Cortés returns to the stage with a special rendition of his previously released composition ‘SONAR POR BULERÍAS’. Accompanied by rhythmic handclaps and meaningful vocals delivered by palmera performers addressing the anchoring role music can play in one’s life, Cortés’ yet again demonstrates the power of his pure, passionate playing style.
