Director Of Photography

Freelance – Berlin

JOB OVERVIEW

COLORSxSTUDIOS (“COLORS”) is a unique, aesthetic music platform based in Berlin. Showcasing exceptional talent from all around the world, COLORS is focused on promoting the most distinctive new artists and original sounds. We are looking for an experienced DIRECTOR OF PHOTOGRAPHY (DOP) on a freelance basis to work alongside the Creative Director/Art Director on set. The DOP would be responsible for COLORS’ visual elements such as developing our show’s visual style, composition, planning camera angles and determining lighting.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

The Director of Photography will support in:

  • Setting and operating the cameras, lighting and equipment
  • Guide the framing and focus of shots during the shoot
  • Defining light requirements for photo and video shoots
  • Handling and managing video and lighting equipment inventory
  • Studio preparation

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • Has a background in creative industries with a focus on film
  • Has at least 2 years of proven experience in a photography direction
  • Has an excellent eye and fine tuning details
  • Is a creative thinker and a successful collaborator with the creative leadership
  • Is a confident communicator with an open personality when interacting with artists in order to make them feel comfortable in our surroundings
  • Is someone who is extremely organized and can direct & motivate other artists and members of the team
  • Has a Drivers License (a big plus but not essential)

Production Intern

Pflichtpraktikum (40 hours) / freiwilliges Praktikum (20 hours) – Berlin

JOB OVERVIEW

COLORS has succeeded in building a platform that has created a space for creatives to share their art and vision. We are looking for a talented and highly organized PRODUCTION INTERN who assists our Production team across multiple on-set and wider company organizational tasks.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES 

The Production Intern will support in:

  • Preparing/drafting production related documents like call sheets, spreadsheets, handbooks, invitation letters
  • Organizational production tasks, running errands
  • Preparing key meetings internally and externally
  • General production research if needed (hotels, travel restrictions)
  • Helping post and production team with EQ & drive inventories
  • Updating project boards & general information platforms
  • Booking transportation and ordering couriers
  • Supporting the Production team with ad-hoc tasks

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • Has excellent attention to detail and is extremely organized
  • Has the ability to work autonomously & methodically
  • Can multitask and work on various projects simultaneously
  • Is used to working to hard deadlines and stays calm under pressure
  • Is a team player and a trusted and respected colleague
  • Has excellent communication skills in English & German, other languages such as French are desirable
  • Has an interest & passion for Production and is attuned to both the COLORS brand and wider landscape of music, culture, apparel and lifestyle
  • Drivers License and Adobe Suite skills are preferred
