Priya Ragu – Black Goose / Let Me Breathe | A COLORS SHOW
Since the release of her 2020 debut single, ‘Good Love 2.0’, there’s been no stopping the creative force that is Priya Ragu. Now based in London, the Tamil-Swiss artist’s unique brand of “Raguwavy”—a mix of R&B and soul layered with Tamil folk influences—came to life in 2021 when she released her debut mixtape ‘damnshestamil’. Most recently, Ragu is preparing for the release of her debut album, ‘Santhosan’. Named after the Tamil word for ‘happiness’, the project will feature already released singles such as ‘Adalam Va!’, ‘Easy’, and ‘Vacation’.
For COLORS, Ragus delivers a medley of ‘Black Goose’ and ‘Let Me Breathe’, two new singles that will appear on ‘SANTHOSAM’ and that both feature production from her brother (and long-time collaborator) Japhna Gold. While both feature production by Ragu’s brother and long-time collaborator Japhna Gold, ‘Black Goose’’s rhythmic pulses and infectious melodies strongly juxtapose ‘Let Me Breathe’’s soothing and meditative atmospherics.
