Natalie Greffel – O sol te faria bem | A COLORS SHOW
Born in Maputo and raised in Århus, Mozambican-Danish singer, bassist, and composer Natalie Greffel’s music is a reflection of her heritage and identity. Released last year, her acclaimed debut studio solo album ‘Para Todos’ explores the histories of the African diaspora and imperialism. Songs such as ‘Não Sabia Nem Começar’ and ‘Toquei’ embody Greffel’s modern take on MPB (Música popular brasileira), a trend in post-bossa nova urban popular music in Brazil that weaves in elements of Jazz and even Rock.
For COLORS, the Berlin-based artist delivers a delightful performance of her new single ‘O sol te faria bem’. The groove-inflected, stripped-back instrumentation opens up space for Greffel’s spirited vocals to pierce through, creating an uplifting and vibrant atmosphere from start to finish. Watch the performance of ‘O sol te faria bem’ above and stay tuned for Greffel’s forthcoming project ‘New Past’—created in collaboration with percussionist and producer Philo and multi-instrumentalist Eden Girma, is set to be released in December this year.
