NAO – ORBIT
Ever since she stepped into the spotlight with her delightful debut EP ‘So Good’, which featured collaborations with A. K. Paul and Abhi//Dijon on ‘So Good’ and ‘Adore You’, Nao has been a shining light for the UK music scene. With a voice (and sound) like no other, Nao has continued to bring her slices of “wonky-funk” with two stellar albums in the form of 2016’s ‘For All We Know’ and ‘Saturn’, which dropped last year.
An amalgamation of influences from soul, jazz, electronic, pop, R&B with flourishes of Hip-Hop, Nao’s music is impossible to place into a box – and stand out single ‘Orbit’, which she performs for COLORS, is the perfect example. The shapeshifting composition, which is co-produced with long-time collaborator GRADES, finds Nao on a cosmic journey as she traipes through dreamy guitar licks and sparse beats as she navigates and comes to terms with a heartbreak. Prepare to be blown away by Nao’s performance of ‘Orbit’ above, and if you haven’t already, be sure to dive into ‘Saturn’ too.
