Nairobi-born singer-songwriter and producer Maya Amolo explores the complex spectrum of love through the lens of Alternative R&B. Having garnered homegrown support through SoundCloud releases like ‘I Know’ and ‘Jokes’, Amolo released her debut project ‘Leave Me At The Pregame’ in 2020; a record that chronicles the singer’s journey of self-acceptance and healing. In 2022, Amolo released her debut album ‘Asali’, which means “Honey” in her native Kiswahili. Here, we hear the singer embrace the sweeter facets of love on tracks like ‘Can’t Get Enough’ and ‘Foundry’. Most recently, Amolo dropped ‘Asali (Sweeter)’, the deluxe version of the album, whose nine new tracks touch on the stickier phases of love.
