Lucky Daye – Buying time
Hailing from New Orleans, Lucky Daye has gone from auditioning for American Idol back in 2005 to receiving four nominations at the 62nd Grammy Awards including one for Best R&B Album for his spectacular debut album ‘Painted’ which dropped this past May. In the lead up to ‘Painted’ were two stellar EPs in the form of ‘I’ and ‘II’ which exemplified the singer/songwriter’s poetic lyricism and vivid storytelling.
On his COLORS performance, Lucky Daye (real name David Brown), treats us to a special rendition of one of his recently released standalone singles ‘Buying Time’ which is produced by D’Mile. A gentle guitar-driven track that sees the singer’s soothing tones ride the groove with ease, ‘Buying Time’ showcases his versatility as both a singer and songwriter.
