Since introducing himself with the dark and twisted sounds of debut EP ‘1-4’ which featured standout singles like ‘Submarine’ and ‘Repeater’, London based rapper and singer Jelani Blackman has grown from strength to strength. Over the past few years, the rising artist has continued to impress with his ‘5-8’ and ‘Lockjaw’ EPs as well as a round of singles last year like ‘Nobody’s Son’, ’Brixton’ which feature on his ‘Average Joe’ project.
When it comes to Blackman’s music, what stands out is his distinctive gravelly tone which exudes a depth and vulnerability that is heightened by his raw and honest songwriting. This shines through on his COLORS performance of new single ‘Hello’ which sees Blackman work his lyrical magic over a ruthless beat.
