Hope Tala – I Can’t Even Cry | A COLORS SHOW
West London’s Hope Tala – real name Hope Natasha McDonald – blends silky R&B melodies with bossa nova-inspired rhythms to create a genre-defying sound that feels both timeless and fresh. Emerging with her 2018 EP ‘Starry Ache’, she gained widespread attention with ‘Sensitive Soul’ in 2019, a project that showcased her poetic lyricism and genre-spanning approach. Her breakout single ‘Jealous’ from 2020’s ‘Girl Eats Sun’ project earned critical acclaim, cementing her as one of alternative R&B’s most exciting voices. Most recently, Hope has been sharing a taste of her forthcoming (and long-awaited) debut album ‘Hope Handwritten’, through singles like ‘Jumping the Gun’ and ‘Survival’.
For her debut A COLORS SHOW, Hope Tala graces the stage to share an endearing rendition of ‘I Can’t Even Cry’, a poignant moment from her album. With her tender vocals floating over lush guitar lines and soothing piano accents, Hope masterfully captures the numbness of heartbreak while offering a glimmer of hope through its reflective lyrics and intimate atmospherics.
