Greentea Peng – Downers
London based artist Greentea Peng is the embodiment of positivity and that’s reflected in the vibrancy in her music. Last October, the rising singer/songwriter unveiled the magnificent ‘Sensi’ EP, which featured stand out singles like ‘Moonchild’, ‘Loving Kind’ and ‘Mind’. The six-track project is an exemplary body of work that oozes class and showcases the Bermondsey-born singer’s exceptionally colourful and atmospheric sonic worlds.
For her COLORS session, Greentea Peng comes through to deliver a tantalising performance of previously unreleased single ‘Downers’. Backed up by a lo-fi beat which boasts some glorious strings, the track is taken to new heights with the singer’s lush, rasp-inflected vocals coursing through the electronic soundbed. Despite the track’s seemingly negative title, Greentea Peng approaches the topic with positive vibes as she reflects on herself, making an effort to grow.
