Enji – Uzegdel A COLORS SHOW
Munich-based Mongolian singer Enkhjargal Erkhembayar (aka Enji) creates music that blends jazz and folk with traditional Mongolian influences. In 2021, she followed up her debut album ‘Mongolian Song’ with the acclaimed ‘Ursgal’, which includes highlights such as ‘Zavkhan’, ‘Khorom’, and ‘I’m Glad There Is You’. Addressing themes of unbearable distances and the profound and simplistic nature of life, the record is a beautiful representation of Enji’s journey of self-discovery. Most recently, the singer shared ‘Taivshral’, an introspective and brooding jazz single that serves as the first taste of ‘Ulaan’, her forthcoming album.
For her COLORS debut, Enji shares an enchanting performance of her new single ‘Uzegdel’. Also lifted from ‘Ulaan’, the song features sparse, acoustic guitars that perfectly accompany Enji’s gentle timbered vocals. Wearing a bespoke costume designed by Laura Fries and Carolin Schreck at FRECK, she sings about embracing the peace of loneliness. Watch the full show above and be sure to check out the rest of ‘Ulaan’ when it’s released later this year.
