Buddy – Hollyhood
Simmie Sims III aka Buddy is one of the most exciting rappers to come out of Compton. Since introducing himself with a number of EPs in the form of ‘Ocean & Montana’ (with Kaytranada) and ‘Magnolia’ in 2017, the newcomer went onto drop his exceptional debut album ‘Harlan & Alondra’ in 2018 which is named after the cross streets where he grew up in Compton. The twelve track project, which features stand out cuts like ‘Trippin’ and ‘Trouble On Central’, saw Buddy joined by the likes of COLORS alumni A$AP Ferg and Khalid as well as contributions from Snoop Dogg and Ty Dolla $ign.
For his COLORS session, Buddy drops an emphatic performance of previously unreleased single ‘Hollyhood’. Serving up his fiery lines with a super slick delivery over a chilled out beat, Buddy impresses once again as he raps and sings his way through the track.
