Brooklyn based filmmaker and musician Austin Johnson aka breaking shares his breathtaking new single in the form of ‘Tick’. Ottawa based artist maxime. shares a striking visual for latest single ‘old fast’, taken from his debut album ‘whatevernowiscalled’ which dropped at the start of last month. Opening with glitchy electronics which are joined by some killer guitar lines, the track’s moody atmosphere is heightened by maxime.’s equally arresting vocals. Baby Sosa & Polo Perks – Uberxl

Rising Richmond, Va. rapper Baby Sosa shares hypnotic new single ‘Uberxl’ which features Polo Perks and production courtesy of Harrison. The single follows her captivating debut single ‘Everywhereigo’ and boasts a bass-heavy beat which lays the framework for Polo Perks to work his magic and for Sosa to add her own striking vocals into the mix.

New York based songwriter emawk follows up his exceptional ‘vintage’ EP with another delicious slice of soulful sounds in the form of ‘tea’. Having caught our attention earlier this year with the stunning ‘Later’, emawk rounds off the year with the soothing atmospherics of ‘tea’. Soundtracked by gentle guitars and a subtle electronic beat, it’s emawk’s soul-stirring vocals that steal the show once more, showing why he’s one of the most exciting voices around.

Luke Wild – Fever Brain

Influenced by the likes of Frank Ocean and Elvis Presley, Tampa based artist Luke Wild introduces himself with the dreamy ‘Fever Brain’. Opening with the gentle strums of the guitar and Wild’s serene vocals, the track blossoms into an indie-electronic cut that encompasses an air of nostalgia. On ‘Fever Brain’, you can definitely hear those influences seeping through, yet the self-produced song finds the sweet spot in creating a sound that is Wild’s own.

New York outfit altopalo, comprised of Rahm Silverglade, Mike Haldeman, Dillon Treacy, and Jesse Bielenberg, share ‘Letdown’, the follow up to previously released song ‘Mud’. Having dropped their fabulous debut album ‘frozenthere’ last year, the quartet continue to impress with ‘Letdown’, an icy, electronic-trap cut that finds depth and soul in its minimalist instrumentation which gleans from indie, pop, rock,trap, soul, electronic and everything else in between.

Q – Forest Green

South Florida based native Q introduces himself with ‘Forest Green’, a seven track arrangement which impresses from start to finish. Encompassing a myriad of musical influences from R&B, soul and alternative rock, the self produced record takes a deep dive into topics such as preoccupied anxiety, lack of connection, and love. Whether it’s the rock tinged ‘I Get Tired’ and ‘I Might Slip Away if I Don’t Feel Nothing’ or the smoother intonations of ‘Pray Together’ and falsetto laden ‘Your Special’, Q showcases his versatility wonderfully as a musician, singer and songwriter.

Hunjiya – give it/what i get

South Korean born, New York raised singer, songwriter and producer Alice Kim aka Hunjiya (pronounded hun-jee-yuh) shares her breezy new single ‘give it/what i get’, which follows up previously released single ‘said’. Backed up with a breezy soundscape which intertwines the world of R&B/soul with electronic and trap-inspired flourishes, the track encompasses a refreshing atmosphere as Hunjiya’s serene voice permeates through with ease. The perfect soundtrack to those hazy summer days, listen as Hunjiya, soothes your soul with those golden tones.

Caroline Polachek – Door

Formerly of indie-pop outfit Chairlift, singer/songwriter Caroline Polachek unveils her sparkling debut solo effort in the form of ‘Door’. Accompanied by an otherworldly music video and serving as the lead single from her forthcoming debut album, ‘Door’ is a dazzling pop song that sees Polachek’s crystalline vocals shine across a twinkling soundscape as the cryptic lyrics allow your imagination to run wild. An exemplary taste of what’s to come from Polachek’s debut full length (two thirds of which is produced by Danny L. Harle), ‘Door’ is everything you need and want in a pop song.

dhruv – double take

Having shared a handful of gorgeous acoustic demos on his SoundCloud over the past year or so, New York based singer/songwriter dhruv delivers his first studio single in the form of ‘double take’. Produced by fellow New Yorker frankis, the sparkling track features a sharp electronic, trap inspired soundbed which boasts a pounding bass which is topped off by dhruv’s exquisite vocal delivery. It serves as dhruv’s first. A brilliant debut offering, ‘double take’ is a dazzling introduction to dhruv’s artistry and according to his SoundCloud, there’s more new music on the way.

Premiere: Rachel Faith – Phantom

Having released her hauntingly beautiful debut EP ‘CODEPENDENCY’ last year, Chicago based singer, songwriter and producer Rachel Faith shares the equally arresting ‘Phantom’. Premiering at COLORS, the track is accompanied by a glitchy, animated visual by Megan McGuire, Henrique Migue and Alex Koester, the tense and utterly captivating single titillates between ferocity and fragility. The production by frequent collaborator Elias Abid (Appleby) creates a dark and moody atmosphere, one that’s only heightened by Faith’s smoky yet silky vocals.

Kanika – Playing It Safe (ft. emawk)

L.A. based singer, songwriter and producer Kanika introduced herself earlier this year with the delicate and whispery ‘Is It Over Yet’; a heartfelt and utterly captivating debut. Her follow up single ‘Playing It Safe’, is another dreamy and atmospheric foray which features the endearing tones and poetic words of emawk. Together, the pair manoeuvre the ambient an cinematic soundscape as their vocals coalesce to form the most beautiful of harmonies.

Jackie Mendoza – De Lejos

San Diego native Jackie Mendoza’s experimental pop tracks can be just as explosive as they can be delicate. One of her most recent offerings, the soothing ‘De Lojas’, leans towards the latter end of the spectrum with its subtle and stripped down instrumentation comprised of gentle ukulele and clicks, accompanying Mendoza’s charming and endearing intonations. Sung in Spanish, the song is a delightful slice of future pop that explores the challenges that arise when dealing with a long distance relationship.

070 Shake – Morrow

G.O.O.D. Music signed artist and COLORS alum 070 Shake kicks off her musical output of the year with two brilliant new singles in the form of ‘Nice to Have’ and ‘Morrow’. Jitwam – Temptations

With his roots in Assam, North-east India and his hustle now based in Brooklyn; Jitwam. draws his influence from a vast array of artists including but not limited to RD Burman, Moondog, The Velvet Underground, Jay Dilla, Moodymann, Asha Bhosle and Madlib to name a few. Soulful sounds within the realm of indie psychedelic rock and hip-hop, his fluidity as an artist fuses disparate styles and ideas into a world that is truly unique and his own. ‘Temptations’ with the heart felt vocals is his latest single from upcoming album ‘Honeycomb’ to be released on Tartelet Records which encapsulates his diverse upbringing in India and Australia, before living in monasteries in Thailand, orphanages in South Africa, and finally the US, where he currently resides.

Tepu – flip a coin

Dripping with groovy guitars and sizzling electronics, the latest offering from L.A. based singer/songwriter Tepu is an absolute blast. The blistering production in ‘flip a coin’, brings to mind the lush soundscapes of late 90’s and early 2000’s R&B jams a la Justin Timberlake with a refreshing twist. Of course, Tepu’s gloriously smooth vocals add an extra layer of luxe as they weave their way through the ever-growing soundscape. Serving as the follow up to last year’s mesmerising ‘Teri Awaz’, Tepu strikes a chord once again with ‘flip a coin’.

Dijon – Sci Fi 1

Los Angeles-based, Baltimore-raised artist Dijon has shared ‘Sci Fi 1’, his charming debut EP which features the previously released singles ‘Cannonball’ and ‘Drunk’. Over the course of the EP’s seven songs, Dijon explores a variety of sounds, but one constant remains – his soaring, fragile, powerful, heartwarming voice. Whether it’s those serene tones that are accompanied by gentle guitar chords on ‘Dog Eyes’ or the distorted delivery on ‘Bracelet’, Dijon’s ability to capture emotion and convey a narrative is second to none – ‘Sci Fi 1’ is a gift that keeps on giving from start to finish.

Boston born, Nairobi raised, New York based artist emawk’s newest single ‘Later’ is a breathtaking affair. The minimalist production creates a spacious and swelling atmosphere, one that envelopes and draws you in as emawk’s mesmerising voice carries you deeper. Each layer of instrumentation sees the track blossom with each note a moment of magic. With ‘Later’, emawk has concocted something truly special.

Sid Sriram – Entropy

Chennai-born, Bay Area-based singer, songwriter and producer Sid Sriram’s music oscillates between progressive R&B and soul with classical Indian (Carnatic) influences. His long-awaited debut album ‘Entropy’, which features previously released single ‘It Isn’t True’ and ‘6 weeks’, is packed with gems that exhibit Sriram’s poetic songwriting, heartwarming voice and magnificent production.
