Nick Hakim – QADIR

Washington Born, New York based artist Nick Hakim returns with ‘QADIR’, the impeccable lead single from his forthcoming new album ‘WILL THIS MAKE ME GOOD’. A dazzling array of Hakim’s signature soulful electronica, ‘QADIR’ is a hauntingly beautiful cut that sees the singer’s captivating vocals take center stage. Ayelle & Rationale – Choice

New York based songstress Ayelle teams up with London based artist Rationale on ‘Choice’, taken from her forthcoming mixtape ‘NOMAD’. The brilliant offering follows up previous gems like ‘Trust’ and ‘Effort’, not to mention the pair’s previous collaboration ‘Hurts The Most’ which dropped last September, and wonderfully showcases Ayelle’s golden tones as they glide across the crisp, electronic-led soundscape produced by Rationale. Dive into the lush soundscapes of ‘Choice’ here and be sure to keep an eye out for ‘NOMAD’ which is out later this year.

Childish Gambino – 3.15.20

Donald Glover aka Childish Gambino unveils ‘3.15.20’, his latest full length album which features previously released single ‘Algorhythm’. The record first appeared (and then mysteriously disappeared) on 15th March 2020 on the artist’s website donaldgloverpresents.com. With contributions from Ariana Grande, 21 Savage and frequent collaborator Ludwig Göransson, ‘3.15.20’ is a soulful, funky, jarring, thought provoking, soul-stirring album that might just be Gambino’s strongest offering to date.

LYRAH – The View

San Francisco native LYRAH shares new single ‘The View’, which is accompanied by an equally arresting visual directed by Red Gaskell. The simple, trap-inspired beat gives the track some bite as LYRAH’s impeccably smooth and haunting vocals enrich the soundscape by adding a touch of warmth. This is one of those singles that you can easily get lost to, simply press play and drift away.

min.a – Hi-FI

Consider yourself introduced to New York City based singer, songwriter and producer min.a who dazzles on her new EP ‘Hi-Fi’. Written, performed, produced, mixed AND mastered by min.a herself, the four-track project packs quite the punch, showcasing the artist’s striking production and eloquent songwriting skills. From opener ‘Own Up To It’ to closing number ‘Here For You’, each song serves as delicious slice of electronic pop that sounds just as refreshing with each listen.

HAWA – the ONE

Consider yourself introduced to Berlin-born, NY-based artist HAWA who showcases her unique sound on intoxicating debut EP ‘the ONE’. Featuring previously released singles ‘MY LOVE’ and ‘IPHONE’, the eight-track project sees refreshing soundscapes from the likes of Oscar Key Sung, Cadenza, Tony Seltzer (and more) and captures HAWA’s incredibly diverse repertoire. ISHMAEL – PEACE

Rochester, NY based rapper ISHMAEL (fka Ishmael Raps) returns with another impressive track in the form of ‘PEACE’ (co-produced by Switch). Serving as his first new song in over a year, ‘PEACE’ is definitely worth the wait. Accompanied by a thought-provoking visual directed by ISHMAEL and Zach Stone, ‘PEACE’ sees the rapper go all in with an infectious energy and fiery flow as he works his magic over the shape-shifting beat. ISHMAEL isn’t playing around on this one – see for yourself to the right.

seeyousoon – Steamy

Consider yourself introduced to Florida based collective seeyousoon who burst onto the scene with their explosive debut single ‘Steamy’. With one of the most memorable debuts you’ll hear this year, the 9-piece (comprised of Ignacio, Kenny, Denny, Maddie, Josh, Dre, Drex, Luke, and Mitch) make quite the impression with a refreshing slice of Hip-Hop with a sprinkling of pop and R&B thrown in for good measure. Laica – Forever EP

Maddie Jay – The Peanut Butter Song

Rising LA-based singer, producer and multi-instrumentalist Maddie Jay shares a playful and utterly enchanting new single in the form of ‘The Peanut Butter Song’. With hints of psychedelic rock and lo-fi hip hop, ‘The Peanut Butter Song’  exudes an ever so cool and inviting atmosphere as Maddie Jay smothers her super smooth vocals atop the glistening soundbed of guitars and drums. Nick Leng – Plastic Moon (ft. Chester Watson)

South Africa born, Los Angeles based artist Nick Leng teams up with rapper Chester Watson on the woozy and utterly enchanting ‘Plastic Moon’. An apt title for a single, as this truly is Monét’s moment.

Against All Logic – Illusions Of Shameless Abundance

Chilean-American producer Nicolas Jaar teases new Against All Logic album with double-A side EP ‘Illusions of Shameless Abundance’. The two tracks ‘Alucinao’ (featuring FKA twigs and Estado Unido) and ‘Illusions of Shameless Abundance’ (featuring Lydia Lunch)’ are shape-shifting electronic cuts that twist and turn, dip and dive in all directions. If this EP is anything to go by, the new record (titled ‘2017-2019’ which is out February 7th), is shaping up to be one of the most striking and vivid projects you’ll hear this year.

Neru Thee Fourth Fugee – The Almanac

Consider yourself introduced to Baltimore based artist Neru Thee Fourth Fugee, whose latest album ‘The Almanac’ is an absolute blast from start to finish. The project serves as the follow up to 2014’s ‘Enlightenment Era’ and features previously released single ‘‘C-Spine’ which enlists the talents of rising star Deetranada. Over the course of the project’s nine tracks, Neru takes you on a kaleidoscopic journey of sounds which beautifully meld together hip-hop, rap, funk, neo-soul with psychedelic nuances thrown in for good measure.

Liv.e – SirLadyMakemFall

Texan singer/songwriter Liv. (pronounded “Liv”) shares brilliant new single ‘SirLadyMakemFall’ which is accompanied by an equally chilled video directed by Barrington Darius). Having released her brilliant ‘Hoopdreams’ project back in 2018 (as well as featuring on Earl Sweatshirt’s ‘FEET OF CLAY’ last year), the single serves as the first taste of solo music from the now L.A. based artist in quite a while – and what a special cut it is. Dive into the track’s (and video’s) laid back atmospherics to the right.

Brooklyn based filmmaker and musician Austin Johnson aka breaking shares his breathtaking new single in the form of ‘Tick’. The slow burning track opens with warming guitar melodies as a subtle electronic beat works its way into the mix and Johnson’s fragile, falsetto-laden voice warms your soul. The perfect soundtrack for these chilly winter months (if you’re in the Northern Hemisphere), ‘Tick’ is an intriguing slice of electronic-folk that brilliantly follows up last year’s ‘Shell’ EP.

Orion Sun – ne me quitte pas (don’t leave me)

Ottawa based artist maxime. shares a striking visual for latest single ‘old fast’, taken from his debut album ‘whatevernowiscalled’ which dropped at the start of last month. Opening with glitchy electronics which are joined by some killer guitar lines, the track’s moody atmosphere is heightened by maxime.’s equally arresting vocals.
