Oxmo Puccino

Mali born, French based Abdoulaye Diarra aka Oxmo Puccino is a rapper who doesn’t back down on his music. Documenting the violent yet poetic portrayals of Paris life, Puccino sets himself apart from his contemporaries through his magnificent lyricism and powerful flow. Honing these skills over the past twenty years (his debut album ‘Opéra Puccino’ came out in 1998), Paccino’s unquestionable songwriting is ever present on his latest offerings. On ‘Peuvent pas’ and ‘Social Club’, which features Caballero and JeanJass, Paccuno continues to show why he’s still one of the greatest storytellers in the game.

That’s also exactly the case with ‘Le droit de chanter’, a previously unreleased single which Paccuno performs for COLORS. Taken from, and serving as the opening track on his brand new album ‘La nuit du réveil’ (which features the two aforementioned singles), the track wonderfully sets the scene of Puccino’s new record which translates to ‘The night of the awakening’. Enjoy the brilliant performance of ‘Le droit de chanter’ up top, and be sure to check out the new album too!
