COLORS showcases exceptional talent from all around the globe, focused on the most distinctive new artists and original sounds.

Flippter

Flippter is the musical project of Saudi and Sudan based rapper Loay Karim, whose signature comedic offerings like ‘Gorasa’ and ‘Tamees’ have continually been refreshing and struck a chord with both Saudi and Sudanese audiences alike. Following the Sudan uprising, Flippter flipped his stance with more outspoken, politically charged narratives taking centre stage – opening with the brutally honest ‘Hatred’.

Flippter – BLUE

Flippter is the musical project of Saudi and Sudan based rapper Loay Karim, whose signature comedic offerings like ‘Gorasa’ and ‘Tamees’ have continually been refreshing and struck a chord with both Saudi and Sudanese audiences alike. Following the Sudan uprising, Flippter flipped his stance with more outspoken, politically charged narratives taking centre stage – opening with the brutally honest ‘Hatred’.

For his COLORS performance, Flippter spits yet more truth on ‘BLUE’, another politically inclined number. Each verse, each line, each word paints a startlingly honest and unsettling account of the Sudan uprising, commenting on the corruptness of the Sudanese goverment with lines like “They’re raping villages / Intelligence used to arrest innocent revolutionaries”. The song also features an audio recording of Mohamed Mattar, a friend of Flippter’s who was shot down by security forces during a peaceful protest on June 3rd 2019. Mattar’s death ignited the #BlueForSudan social media campaign, something that Flippter eloquently addresses in the second verse: “Got outta the cave outta the blue / One week later he painted this planet as blue as plu-to the Same shade of this room”.
