COLORS showcases exceptional talent from all around the globe, focused on the most distinctive new artists and original sounds.

Alemeda

Ethiopian-Sudanese artist Rahema Alamada, known mononymously as Alemeda, has been a rising force in the alternative pop scene ever since she released her viral single ‘Gonna Bleach My Eyebrows’ in 2021. Despite her restrictive upbringing (she grew up in a strict religious household), Alemeda hasn’t been afraid to express herself through her music with defiant follow ups like ‘Post Nut Clarity’, ‘Don’t Call Me’ and ‘Guy Girl’. Through each release, Alemeda shares her evolution and transition from teenage angst to self-assured artistry as her forthcoming EP, set to drop later this year, sees her delve deep into the emotional chaos and revenge of her formative years.

For her debut COLORS appearance, Alemeda treats us to a slice of alternative pop-rock with an exhilarating performance of a new song from the upcoming EP titled ‘I already dug your grave’. Packed with energy, the track’s gritty rhythmic pulse, with crunchy guitars and punchy drums drives a melodic yet edgy sound mirrored by the singer’s powerful vocals as she expresses her frustration and anger towards a dishonest and hurtful ex-partner. Watch the full performance of ‘already dug your grave’ on the site and keep an eye out for the new EP which is out later this year.
