Topaz Jones – Tropicana

New Jersey based rapper Topaz Jones creates groove inflected hip hop cuts that are packed with funk. Having released his debut album The Honeymoon Suite back in 2014, Jones impressed once more with his sophomore effort Arcade which dropped this past year. Featuring previously released singles “Motion Sickness” and the Pell featuring “Winona”, the ten track project is a brilliant explosion of hip hop, soul and of course, funk.

Sounding fresher than ever, Topaz Jones provides a punchy performance of standout cut and bonus track “Tropicana” as part of his COLORS session. Delivered with an infectious energy, Jones wonderfully embodies the track’s tropical vibes as those groove-filled guitar lines and funky instrumentation get you moving from the moment you hit that play button. When you add those rapid-fire verses which juxtapose the softly sung backing vocals, not to mention that magnificent cowbell bursting in and out of them mix, you’ve got yourself something quite special here. You know what to do…
