Smino – Maraca

If for some reason or another you haven’t been acquainted with Smino, then it’s about time you did! Having released his magnificent debut album titled blkswn earlier this year (in fact it was fittingly released on March 14, which just happens to be the area code [314] for his hometown), the St. Louis based artist has grown from strength to strength as his soulful cuts laced with funky bursts of magic are topped off by his slick and ferocious flow.

As part of his COLORS show, the St. Louis native gives us a fiery and utterly captivating taste of his infectious single “Maraca”. From the moment you press play, Smino transports you to a smoke filled, atmospheric place of hypnotic expositions whilst maintaining an element of playfulness with his songwriting and delivery. A shapeshifting journey in which Smino switches between a number of tones and cadences, “Maraca” is an example of songwriting and composition at its very best.
