Sometimes an artist comes along who’ll make you stop what you’re doing and truly, listen. That’s exactly the case with L.A. based cellist, singer and producer Kelsey Lu whose music commands your attention from start to finish. Since releasing her stunning debut EP titled ‘Church’ back in 2016, Lu has lent her talents to Florence + the Machine’s ‘High As Hope’ record and has played alongside the likes of Blood Orange, Sampha and Kelela. Most recently, Lu’s continued to shine on a slew of singles over the past year in the form of ‘Shades of Blue’, ‘Due West’ and a striking cover of 10cc’s ‘I’m Not In Love’.
For her COLORS session, Kelsey Lu treats us to a magical performance of ‘Blood’, the heavenly title-track to her highly-anticipated debut album which features contributions from the likes of Jamie xx, Skrillex and Rodaidh McDonald. The sparkling instrumentation accompanies Lu’s golden tones which rise and fall in cadence whilst transporting you to a paradisiacal place of utter serenity. Let yourself float away to the grace of Kelsey Lu’s stunning performance of ‘Blood’ up top, and be sure to give the album a spin too.
