joesef – everything belongs to you

What makes Glaswegian artist Joesef’s music so compelling is the way in which he conveys feelings of love and heartbreak. On 2019’s ‘Play Me Something Nice’, the rising singer/songwriter delivered a gorgeous collection of swoon-worthy singles that embraced and celebrated love whilst last year’s ‘Does It Make You Feel Good?’ beautifully captures the painful heartache of a breakup. Last year, gave us a taste of the EP with a stunning performance of ‘Comedown’, the project’s forlorn closing track.

Today, Joesef is back with A COLORS ENCORE performance of ‘Everything Belongs To You’, which serves as the opener to ‘Does It Make You Feel Good?’. From the get go, Josef sets the scene for the song’s (and EP’s) journey with the agonising opening line “I know this will never work”. Those soft, yearning tones navigate the rich, piano-led instrumentation as drums drift in and out of the soundscape as Joesef tries to make sense of the broken relationship. Check out ‘Everything Belongs To You’ above and don’t forget to watch Josef’s performance of ‘Comedown’ too if you haven’t already done so.
