Born and raised in Kinshasa, Congo, JEY BROWNIE cites the likes of Michael Jackson, The Weeknd, and Young Thug as his biggest inspirations. Kickstarting his musical career by releasing the singles ‘peu de love’ and ‘Hennessy’ in 2019, the now Paris-based artist has become known for his unique blend of trap, R&B, and many other genres. In 2022, he dropped ‘EXORDE’, his debut full length album that was produced by FLEM KGB. More recently, in his latest project, ‘Faits divers’ (2023), Jey showcased his exceptional vocal range against soundscapes referencing both Congolese rumba and pop.
For his COLORS debut, JEY delivers a sharp performance ‘Dans l’âme’, a new single lifted from his forthcoming album. Against buoyant guitar lines, lush piano melodies, and a striking trap-beat, the artist uses sleek tones to lyrically explore themes ranging from self-discovery to resilience.
