Hare Squead – Minor Gangsters (Scully)

Comprised of Tony Konstone and Lilo Blues, Hare Squead have been at the forefront of the Irish rap scene for quite some time now – you’ll see why on their COLORS performance. With a couple of brilliant EPs under their belt in the form of ‘If I Ask’ and ‘Supernormal’ (both of which dropped in 2016), the pair have gone onto share a handful of gems that seamlessly blend together a plethora of sonic worlds. Most recently, Hare Squead released ‘Baeboo’ a synth-led summer jam that boasts a killer falsetto and fresh groove.

For COLORS though, Hare Squead delivers a dynamite performance of previously released single ‘Minor Gangsters (Scully)’. Inspired by London mayoral candidate Rory Stewart, who made headlines last year for referring to the group as “minor gangsters”, the track sees the pair navigate through the genre-bending production which opens and is carried by Latin-inspired acoustic guitar lines and a bass-heavy beat penned by Courageous Xavier Herrera and Payday. Check out the show up top and be sure to keep an eye out for Hare Squead’s forthcoming ‘Superweird’ EP which is out later this year.
