Hak Baker – Tom

Hak Baker is a special artist. Formerly a member of Grime collective Bomb Squad, the London based singer/songwriter is creating music unlike anyone else. A breath of fresh air if ever there was one, Hak Baker’s soulful yet powerful sounds carry political undertones in his narratives, presented beautifully on a platter of elegant instrumentation which marries indie, folk and even reggae. Most recently, Baker released Misfits, his delightful six-track debut EP which features the previously heard singles “7AM” and “Conundrum”.

However, for his COLORS session, he treated us to a spellbinding performance of “Tom”. The penultimate track from his magnificent Misfits EP, “Tom” is a sombre but utterly emotional cut which shows the Londoner in a deeply vulnerable and heartwarming light. Carried by the simplest of guitar chords, it’s the songwriting and Hak Baker’s captivating voice delivered in that quintessentially London accent which steals the show. Immerse yourself in the raw and heartfelt performance up tp and be sure to check out Hak Baker’s Misfits EP too!
