The laid-back instrumentation which boasts a crisp drum beat and soft electronics allows May’s thought-provoking and vivid lyrics like “Girls don’t always sing about boys, What if I wanna talk about suffering, in the earth, the ocean plastic happenings?” to truly hit home.
