Since releasing her firecracker breakthrough single ‘Yucky Blucky Fruitcake’ in September 2020, Tampa, Florida-based rapper Doechii—aka Jaylah Ji’mya Hickmon—has continually impressed with her versatile delivery and sprightly lyricism. Delivering follow up EP’s ‘Oh the Places You’ll Go’ and ‘Bra-Less’ in 2020 and 2021 respectively, this year Doechii announced her signing to Top Dawg Entertainment—whose flagship artists include COLORS alums ScHoolboy Q and Isaiah Rashad—and Capitol with the release of her SZA-assisted single ‘Persuasive’.
