Cakes Da Killa – CAKEWALK | A COLORS SHOW
For over a decade, New York-based rapper Cakes Da Killa has been setting the club scene alight with his ferocious raps over vibrant dance beats. Following the release of a number of EPs and mixtapes including ‘Easy Bake Oven, Vol. 1’ (2011), ‘I Run This Club’ (2013), ‘The Eulogy’ (2013), and ‘#IMF’ (2015), the artist went onto release his stellar debut album, ‘Hedonism’, in October 2016. Cakes Da Killa’s ascent continued last year with the release of his sophomore record ‘Svengali’; an album about dating in New York City through the lens of a svengali.
With a new album just around the corner, Cakes Da Killa steps onto the COLORS stage to deliver an ecstatic rendition of his new single ‘CAKEWALK’. Against an explosive soundscape featuring a sweltering electronic beat, the artist lyrically addresses the experience of dealing with relationship issues and asserting independence with a fervent, yet playful delivery.
