It’s safe to say that 2017 has been quite the year for Aminé (that’s uh-MEEN-aye in case you were wondering). Off the magnificent success of his stellar debut single “Caroline” (which hit No. 11 on the Billboard Hot 100 and is certified Platinum three times) last year, Aminé kick-started 2017 with a spot on the coveted XXL Freshman list. Proving many wrong with their “one hit wonder” slurs, the L.A. based artist dropped his equally impressive debut full length Good For You in July; a record which is stacked with bright and bold cuts with contributions from the likes of Ty Dolla Sign, Nelly, Offset, Charlie Wilson and Kehlani.
Rounding off the year in what we can only say is the best way possible (excuse our bias), Aminé delivers a striking performance of standout single “Yellow” – in front of a yellow background, of course. Opening with the direct “I was down, now I’m better”, Aminé flexes his way through the subdued but comforting beat penned by Metro Boomin, Frank Dukes and Murda Beatz. Showing that he can be political and playful with his clever wordplay and casual flow, Aminé has cemented his place as one of the most exciting rappers around. We can’t wait to hear what Aminé has in store for us next, but check out his performance of “Yellow” above and don’t forget to spin Good For You too.
