Dubbed the “Golden Voice of Africa,” Malian singer and songwriter Salif Keita has remained a towering figure in global music since the 1980’s. Born with albinism and descended from a royal lineage, Keita defied tradition to pursue music, blending West African griot styles with jazz, funk, and Afro-pop.
Taking to the COLORS stage, Salif Keita shares a raw and intimate performance of ‘Aboubakrin’, the powerful opening track from the new album. Lifted by minimalist acoustic guitar, the song’s intimate ambiance is enriched by Keita’s gentle, wise vocals, crafting a deeply personal dedication that evokes quiet reflection and stirs a poignant, raw emotion.
