Since releasing his breakout single ‘One Shirt’ in 2021, Nigerian singer and songwriter Ruger has become a trailblazer in the Afro-Dancehall space. Early EPs ‘PANDEMIC’ (2021) and ‘The Second Wave’ (2022), set the tone for Ruger’s debut studio album ‘RU The World’ (2023), which includes hits like ‘Asiwaju’, ‘Tour’ and ‘Red Flags’. Most recently, Ruger teamed up with fellow COLORS alum BNXN on their joint album ‘RnB’ and teased his forthcoming sophomore album with the tantalizing rhythms of ‘Jay Jay’.
On his debut A COLORS SHOW, Ruger steps up to the mic with a magnetic rendition of ‘Toro’, which is also lifted from the new album. Breezy guitars intertwine with soft Afrobeats rhythms, as the singer’s soothing voice drifts through the track, carrying heartfelt pleas for forgiveness—his words tender yet heavy with the weight of love and regret.
