COLORSxSTUDIOS

COLORS showcases exceptional talent from all around the globe, focused on the most distinctive new artists and original sounds.

Ray Laurél

Ray Laurél has worked as a producer in London’s underground music scene since they were 14-years-old. It wasn’t until last year, however, that they introduced themselves to the world as an artist, bringing together influences from R&B and indie genres to push the boundaries of what pop can be. In July 2022, Laurél released their bold and vibrant debut EP ‘MANIC PIXIE DREAM BOY’, a conceptual project that has been described as a soundtrack to queerness and liberation. Since then, they’ve released two equally spellbinding tracks titled  ‘TEMPTRESS’ and ‘DONTLEAVEMYSIDE’, the latter of which features fellow London-based COLORS alum Jeshi.

For their COLORS debut, Ray Laurél delivers an arresting performance of their single ‘CHARLES JEFFREY’. Against a soundscape of swirling electronics, soft drum beats, and pulsating basslines, Laurél sings about embracing their inner demons with his trademark falsetto-laden vocals. Watch the full performance above, and keep an eye out for more from Ray Laurél this year.
