Having already wowed us earlier this year during our HOME/BRED segment, French-born, London-based songwriter and producer Oklou graced the COLORS stage this past week with an awe inspiring performance of new single ‘Fall’. Today, the rising artist returns once again for another spectacular session, this time as part of her COLORS ENCORE where she treats us to a glowing rendition of previously released single ‘entertnmnt’.

Taken from her forthcoming debut full-length project, ‘entertnmnt’ is a collaboration with Grammy-nominated producer Mura Musa who lends his sonic wizardry to create an enriching and bewitching soundscape. Boasts bubbling synths and supple electronics, the track’s guiding light is of course those captivating vocals that are smothered on top. Press play and watch the performance up top, it’s a stunner.

Oklou is the musical project of French-born, London-based musician and producer Marylou Mayniel. Straddling the mainstream and underground stratospheres with ease, Oklou’s eclectic brand of alternative and electronic pop conveys a sound that is both experimental yet feels entirely natural and accessible. It’s this that sets the artist apart from her contemporaries and is ever present throughout her discography; from 2017’s ‘For The Beasts’ EP to 2018’s ‘The Rite of May’.

For her COLORS session, Oklou treats us to an ethereal performance of previously unreleased single ‘Fall’ which is taken from her forthcoming full-length record. The minimal and gentle instrumentation coupled with Maynie’s hauntingly beautiful and delicate vocals have you hooked on each word as she sings “Like a howling beast into the night / Running on from its final fight / I will fall”.
