Born in Northeast India, Sydney-based multi-instrumentalist and producer Jitwam blends together the worlds jazz, funk, punk, house, and neo-soul. After releasing his debut studio album, ‘selftitled’, in 2017, which includes highlights like ‘i ain’t scared of no devil’, ‘alone’, and ‘youkilledmyson’ (with Loretta Smith), Jitwam dropped his sophomore album, ‘Honeycomb’, along with a follow-up EP, ‘enchanté’, in 2019. Last summer, the artist dropped his aptly named ‘Third’ album, a ten-track project packed with spacey grooves, sprawling jazz moments, and of course, Jitwam’s infectious vocals.

For his COLORS debut, Jitwam serves up neo-soul vibes in an introspective performance of his new single ‘Roots’. The track sees Jitwam reflect on being a so-called third culture kid—a recurring theme in ‘Third’—against a dreamy guitar laden soundscape.
