headie one

North London based artist Headie One (aka Irving Adjei) is at the forefront of the UK drill music scene. Over the years the emcee has released several projects such as ‘Headz or Tails’, ‘The One’, ‘The One Two’ and more, but it’s with his 2020 EP ‘GANG’ (with Fred Again) that took things to another level. Boasting a star-studded lineup featuring the likes of FKA twigs, Sampha and Jamie xx, the eight-track project epitomised Headie One’s sharp penmanship and powerful delivery over refreshing beats courtesy of Fred Again. To top things off, Headie One unveiled his long awaited debut album ‘EDNA’, which further exemplifies his incredible versatility as an artist as he forayed into unexpected territories.

headie one – mainstream

Tottenham based rapper and drill artist Headie One has had quite the year. Having impressed with his stellar collaborative EP with Fred Again titled ‘GANG’, the North Londoner went onto release his chart-topping debut album ‘EDNA’ on October 9th. Serving another star-studded lineup including collaborations with the likes of AJ Tracey, Stormzy, Future, Drake and Skepta just to name a few, ‘EDNA’ is one of the most refreshing records you’ll hear this year.

Earlier this week Headie One dropped by the COLORS stage to deliver a fiery performance of opening cut ‘Teach Me’ and today, he’s back with A COLORS ENCORE of ‘Mainstream’, another highlight of ‘EDNA’. Clocking in at just over two minutes, ‘Mainstream’ sees Headie One take an unexpected diversion from the traditional rap/drill sound. Listen as the artist works his magic over a ProducerBoy & Eyes-penned beat and be sure to give ‘EDNA’ a spin if you haven’t already done so.
