DPR LIVE – Text Me
Since his breakthrough performance on the critically acclaimed viral hit “Eung Freestyle”, South Korean rapper DPR LIVE – real name Hong Da Bin – has grown from strength to strength and has quickly become one of the most exciting voices in the Korean Hip-Hop scene. A member of the Korean record label “Dream Perfect Regime”, DPR LIVE released his Coming To You Live EP in March 2017 which features contributions from the likes of CRUSH, Jay Park and fellow COLORS alum DEAN. This was later followed up by the exceptional Her EP whose five tracks delivers yet another snapshot into LIVE’s electric yet smooth flow over spirited production.
For his COLORS show, DPR LIVE treats us to a spectacular performance of “Text Me”, a stand out cut from his Her project. The explosive track which is produced by DPR DREAM encapsulates LIVE’s playful delivery in which he aims to serenade his crush with his lush tones and slick flow. Gentle keys are accompanied by subtle groove-inflected guitars which are driven by the synth-heavy instrumentation as LIVE weaves his way in out of his brilliant singing voice. We can’t wait to hear what DPR LIVE has in store for us this year, but whilst we wait, give “Text Me” a spin up top!
