COLORSxSTUDIOS

COLORS showcases exceptional talent from all around the globe, focused on the most distinctive new artists and original sounds.

Bien

Bien-aime Alusa is a Nairobi-based songwriter, musician, and vocalist who creates soul-soothing Afropop as Bien. A member and lead vocalist of critically-acclaimed Nairobi-based band, Sauti Sol, Bien embarked on his solo career in 2021 with the release of his debut single ‘National Treasure’, a collaboration with fellow COLORS alum Xenia Manasseh, Bensoul and AfroNautiq. The same year, Bien released his debut project ‘Bald Men Love Better’ in collaboration with Kenyan jazz musician Aaron Rimbui. The five-track project highlighted Bien’s vibrant Afropop sounds, and infectious vocals. Most recently, Bien has also gone on to release a catalog of singles, including ‘Inauma’, ‘My Baby’ (ft. Ayra Starr) and ‘Too Easy’ (with DJ Edu).

Stepping onto the COLORS stage, the Kenyan artist brings the good vibes with his uplifting performance of his new single ‘True Love’.  Lively guitar lines open the instrumentation of ‘True Love’, and a pounding drumbeat follows to serve as the backdrop for Bien’s soul-stirring vocals as he sings about being utterly infatuated by his true love. Press play, and dive into the lovelorn atmospherics of ‘True Love’ above.

Bien Interview
