seeyousoon – VIDÉ

Having introduced themselves with their fiery debut single ‘Steamy’ at the start of the year, Florida based outfit seeyousoon unveil their magnificent debut album ‘VIDÉ’. NO TOURISTS – DUMBO

Toronto based collective NO TOURISTS share their explosive new single ‘DUMBO’. Made up of five independent artists and two producers based in Toronto, including French-Congolese rapper Keynes Woods, and Garçons frontman Deelo Avery, NO TOURISTS showcase their blazing sound with a fusion of hip-hop, rap, R&B and soul with inspirations from the UK’s drill and grime scene. Sampa The Great – Time’s Up (ft. Krown)

Botswana-raised, Melbourne-based rapper Sampa The Great reveals a striking music video for ‘Time’s Up’, taken from last year’s ‘The Return’ album. Just as fiery and explosive as the track itself, the vibrant visual which is directed by Sanjay De Silva serves as a sharp and direct critique of the music industry’s exploitation of her work and artistry. Malik – Green / Blue

Austin, Texas based artist Malik shares vibrant new singles ‘Green’ and ‘Blue’ which are lifted from his forthcoming project titled ‘Spectrum’. Serving as the follow ups to previous singles ‘Yellow’ and ‘Red’, the rising producer/rapper continues to impress with his epic, electronic-led soundscapes that exude a futuristic, cosmic atmosphere that is only heightened by Malik’s vivid songwriting. Noname – Song 33

Chicago based rapper Noname shares ‘Song 33’, a powerful and heartfelt Madlib-produced commentary on the Black Lives Matters movement. Over the course of the 70-second track, Noname references the deaths of George Floyd and Toyin Salau as well as a response to J. Cole’s ‘Snow on tha Bluff’. Check out the single here, it hits harder and packs more of a punch than anything you’ll hear in a long time.

K-OS & Kaytranada – Boshido

Canada based rapper K-OS with fellow native Kaytranada on an explosive and powerful new five-track EP in the form of ‘Boshido’. The project serves as the follow up to K-OS’ 2015 album ‘Can’t Fly Without Gravity’ and 2018 single ‘No Bucks’ and unsurprisingly is another lyrical masterpiece from start to finish as he works his magic over Kaytranada’s bouncy and vibrant soundscapes. JPEGMAFIA – CUTIE PIE!

Baltimore rapper/producer and COLORS alumni JPEGMAFIA unveils another blistering new single in the form of ‘CUTIE PIE!’. Serving as the follow up to previous cuts like ‘BALD!’, ‘COVERED IN MONEY!’ and ‘BODYGUARD!’, the single boasts a bass-filled frenetic beat that’s topped off by Peggy’s equally ferocious and blazing delivery. Tkay Maidza – Shook

Australian rapper Tkay Maidza unleashes another explosive new single in the form of ‘Shook’ which is produced by Dan Farber. Serving as the follow up to previous cuts ‘Awake’ (featuring JPEGMAFIA) and ‘‘IDC IF U BE DED’, ‘Shook’ further showcases Maidza’s unquestionable versatility as a songwriter and vocalist. Little Simz – Drop 6

North London based MC and COLORS alumni Little Simz unveils new EP ‘Drop 6’ which was written and recorded whilst in lockdown. The project follows up last year’s Mercury Prize-nominated album ‘GREY Area’ and features production from the likes of Kal Banx, OTG, Kadz, St Francis Hotel and more as well as an appearance from singer Alewya on closing cut ‘where’s my lighter’. As is expected with everything Simz puts out, ‘Drop 6’ is another fiery collection of songs that showcase the rapper’s exceptional songwriting and ruthless flow.

C. Tangana – Guille Asesino

If you’re looking for a song that will get your heart pumping, look no further than Spanish rapper C. Tangana’s exhilarating new single ‘Guille Asesino’. Accompanied by an equally high octane music video directed by Diana Kunst, the single features a blistering electronic and percussive beat that sees the Madrid based artist lay down his words with a venomous flow. Ivan Ave – Double Goodbyes

Norwegian rapper Ivan Ave was one of the first artists to grace the COLORS stage, if you haven’t checked out his performance of ‘Hello’ yet, head over here.  This past week, the artist unveiled his stellar new album ‘Double Goodbyes’ which enlists the likes of fellow COLORS alumni Joyce Wrice and Sasac, and features stand out cuts like ‘Triple Double Love’ and ‘Nu Path’. On ‘Double Goodbyes’, Ivan Ave is a breath of fresh air as he channels a vibrant and refreshing new sound that takes elements of soul, jazz and hip-hop encased in electronic beats. Life – Cheque On It (ft. Lord Apex)

West London based rapper Life teams up with Lord Apex on his explosive and emotive new single about friendship called ‘Cheque On It’. Dedicated to that one friend we all have “that’s always smiling, the one that’s always happy”, ‘Cheque On It’ sees the two MCs work their magic over a super slick beat. The track closes off with a softer and deeper touch which was inspired by the passing of Life’s close friends due to COVID-19. Shabazz Palaces – The Don of Diamond Dreams

Seattle, Washington based duo Shabazz Palaces return with their magnificent, long-awaited fifth studio album ‘The Don Of Diamond Dreams’. The ten track album includes standout cuts like ‘Fast Learner’ (featuring Purple Tape Nate), ‘Wet’ and ‘Chocolate Souffle’ all of which showcase the pair’s eclectic brand of alternative hip-hop and rap. With each record, Shabazz Palaces bring something new to the table, and that’s exactly the case with ‘The Don Of Diamond Dreams’.

Ultra_eko – Kitchen Sink Dramas

London based rapper Ultra)_eko shares ‘Kitchen Sink Dramas’, a powerful six-track project that packs a punch from start to finish. Throughout the course of the EP, Ultra_eko showcases his versatility as both a performer and songwriter, navigating hard-hitting and powerful beats tinged with gentle piano chords and sophisticated orchestration with ease. There’s a certain rawness to ‘Kitchen Sink Dramas’, one that resonates with you from opening track ‘The Seventh Day” to closer ‘Twisted’.

MALi JO$E – This Could Be You

Consider yourself introduced to rising Perth based rapper MALi JO$E who shares the explosive and uplifting ‘This Could Be You’. Accompanied by a music video directed by Dylan Guy and MALi JO$E, the spirited track features a scintillating beat that serves as the perfect backdrop for JO$E to lay down his sharp verses and chilled vocals. This being the second release for the artist (following last year’s brilliant ‘Mistakes’), it’s safe to say that MALi JO$E is definitely one to watch.

ISHMAEL – PEACE

Rochester, NY based rapper ISHMAEL (fka Ishmael Raps) returns with another impressive track in the form of ‘PEACE’ (co-produced by Switch). Serving as his first new song in over a year, ‘PEACE’ is definitely worth the wait. Accompanied by a thought-provoking visual directed by ISHMAEL and Zach Stone, ‘PEACE’ sees the rapper go all in with an infectious energy and fiery flow as he works his magic over the shape-shifting beat. ISHMAEL isn’t playing around on this one – see for yourself to the right.

Riz Ahmed – The Long Goodbye

British-Pakistani rapper/actor Riz Ahmed unleashes ‘The Long Goodbye’, his break-up letter to a post-Brexit Britain. Riddled with break-up advice from the likes of Mindy Kaling, Yara Shahidi, Mahershala Ali and more, ‘The Long Goodbye’ sees the West Londoner set the scene wonderfully with the poetic opener ‘The Breakup (Shikwa)’. Throughout the record, Riz works his lyrical magic over fiery beats penned by fellow Swet Shop Boys band mate and producer Redinho; coupling sharp verses and raw narratives on standout cuts like ‘Toba Tek Singh’, ‘Where You From’ and ‘Mogambo’.

Superego – Outer Body Stranger (ft. Sampa The Great)

Australian hip hop collective Superego team up with the incredible Sampa The Great on their latest single ‘Outer Body Stranger’. The five-piece serve up another tantalizing experimental cut that boasts their eclectic instrumentation (this time courtesy of Superego member Faoul Duke) and imaginative storytelling. When you add the fierce flow and sharp delivery of Sampa The Great into the mix, there’s no denying that this one’s pretty special.
