Showcasing a new side to the newcomer’s repertoire, ‘Babylon Fall’ sees Chuba lay down her apocalyptic critique of “all the stuff I think that should go first when the world finally ends” delivered with a slick flow over explosive electronic beats. Berlin based artist Valentin Hansen shares the striking and captivating music video for his latest single ‘Pain’. Soundtracked by minimalist guitar chords which are later topped off by glitchy electronics, the track sees Hansen’s yearning tones wash over the subdued soundscape as he sings about “the evolution of the separation of two people”. South African-born, German-based artist WizTheMC makes quite the impression on his brilliant new mixtape ‘Growing Teeth’. German based artist De Rien shares ‘Chimes’, the dazzling new single which follows up previously released debut ‘Cali’. Berlin based Japanese tribal bass duo WaqWaq Kingdom release their psychedelic and kaleidoscopic new album ‘Essaka Hoisa’. Consisting of Shigeru Ishihara (DJ Scotch Egg / Seefeel) and Kiki Hitomi (King Midas Sound), the pair throw you into a swirling whirlwind of sounds from opening track ‘Mum Tells Me’. A melting pot of genres, the pair expertly blend together traditional style Minyo with Jamaican drums, electronic flourishes, dancehall and much more to create a project that is truly unique and intriguing.
New York-born, Berlin-based rapper Zebra Katz marks his return with the explosive and rapid-fire inflections of ‘IN IN IN’,. The single is the first slice of new music from the artist since collaborating with Gorillaz on their 2017 record ‘Humanz’ and will feature on his forthcoming debut album titled ‘LESS IS MOOR’. Co-produced by Tony Quattro who lays down a dark and gloomy atmosphere, the track sees Katz go all in with his slick delivery and sharp lines and serves as the perfect taste of what’s to come from the new LP.
