Feid is on the verge of hitting a major milestone—10 years in music—and he’s marking this defining moment with a new album crafted entirely on his own terms.

Following his A COLORS SHOW performance of “PIDA LO QUE QUIERA MAMI,” a track Feid describes as the centerpiece of his upcoming album, the Colombian artist opened up to us about what makes this project so personal. The album, he explains, is the direct result of everything he’s learned throughout his journey in music.

For the first time, Feid takes full creative control, crafting a sound that reflects his most authentic self. Instead of letting outside influences reshape his vision, he focused on preserving the purity of his original ideas. This renewed approach led to a defining moment in his career; an uncompromising statement of who he is as an artist today.

COLORS celebrates Feid’s 10-year music career, highlighting how his new album captures his sonic signature, reflects his Colombian roots, and spreads his sound globally through his tour.

“This new album is truly unique, it’s a handcrafted piece made in Colombia.”

Tell us about the song you performed today on COLORS, and how it gives us a sneak peek into your upcoming album.

The song is called “PIDA LO QUE QUIERA MAMI”.It’s a special track, I think of it as the bellybutton of the album. At first listen, it might sound simple, just one progression and a few elements—but there’s a lot of detail, like the vocal top lines or the Carrasca you hear, which was recorded live by Sebitas. Things like this add a unique, personal touch.

“PIDA LO QUE QUIERA MAMI” is special because it holds the DNA of all I’ve learned about releasing music so far. It’s like a blank canvas that I included in the album, which is why I call it the bellybutton, it’s that one song you never get tired of listening to.

I’m excited to release this project because it’s the first time I’m releasing something where I’m the producer, mixing engineer, and lyricist—I did everything.

What inspired you to take on handling every part of this album yourself?

I’ve always considered myself a producer, but I never had the guts to say it.

This project is special to me because it’s tailor-made to exactly what I had in mind. I’ve made albums throughout my career with my friends; DJ Juancho, Jowan, Rolo, Sky Rompiendo, and others— but sometimes, when multiple people are involved in a project, your original idea transforms, but in this case, I wanted it to be a pure idea, my idea. This new album is truly unique; it’s a handcrafted piece made in Colombia.

My personal challenge for 2025 has been to do things I didn’t have the willpower to do before; things I lacked discipline for or the musical knowledge of. I dedicated my time to learning more, going deeper, and understanding myself.

What other goals do you have for this year? What is inspiring you?

Right now, our focus is coming to Europe and developing our audience. We’re actually in the middle of a tour while doing this interview. It’s a part of the world that has always intrigued us. We wanted to come here, make an impact, and break language barriers– invite people to just feel the music. A lot of people say it’s all about the vibe, or about the sounds, and that it doesn’t matter what the lyrics say. It’s about transmitting something to people through the melodies.

That’s the goal: Europe, Asia, Africa, and beyond.

How does this European tour feel compared to previous tours you’ve done?

We’re having a blast with this tour. We just came off a physically demanding run, playing stadiums and arenas for up to 60,000 people, and now we’re playing in venues with up to 6,000 people. Our show in Copenhagen was for 2,000 people, making things feel very intimate. It takes us back a few years to when we were doing smaller shows, but now we’re coming in with more experience and new music. We enjoy it so much.

There are people seeing me for the first time, and others who have been following me across multiple tour dates. That’s amazing to me—seeing how people move from country to country, city to city.

Tell us how it feels to share the sounds of Colombia with the rest of the world.

Well, first of all, I think it’s incredible that so many people are coming to listen to our music, to the songs we create, and everything that surrounds the culture of our country.

This new album is special because I had a really amazing guest, Nidia Góngora, who truly represents Colombian culture on the album.

At the end of the day, as we say casually, I’m just another guy—but I think it’s cool how, right now, we get to be global references in such a special way: through our music. We’re here, representing our country.

How do you maintain a sense of home while touring abroad?

Home is something deeper… home is family, home is God, home is values. I’m not someone who feels like I need to be in a specific place to feel at home. I mean, of course, when I get to my house or when I go to my parents’ house and lie down on their bed, it’s the best feeling in the world. But I believe that beyond a physical space, I have a connection with them, with my family, and with people.

In my circle, there are a lot of people who are like family to me or people I’ve known for many years. Having the chance to travel the world doing what we love, experiencing different cultures and countries—that makes it special.

What would you like to say to the COLORS community?

I’m so grateful to be here. I’m a huge fan of the show. I’ve always wanted to be here. It seems to me that COLORS gives a very different tint to our songs. That’s why I chose to perform “PIDA LO QUE QUIERA MAMI,” because it’s a song that I feel can live in this atmosphere, in everything that is COLORS.
